1300 to 1700 years old buddist vihars found 70 km from Cuttack

Three places namely Ratnagiri, Lalitgiri and Udaygiri are approx 70kms from cuttack. These three places are supposed to 1300 to 1700 years old. It is also said that Gautam Buddha was not born in Nepal but in Orissa. There is a place near Bhubaneshwar know as Lumbini.

A tooth relic of Buddha was found in an gold metal case within which there was a silver case and the the silver case was within a metal case. The relic is presently displayed in the state museum in Bhubaneshwar.

At one period most of orissa was into jainism.
